Vanmorgen mezelf er weer toe gezet, een review voor MySimsNetwork. En nu eindelijk ook eens afgemaakt. Hoewel ik een PC-gamer ben, is het ook wel eens leuk om zo af en toe op de DS mijn gang te gaan. Over het algemeen zijn het ook meer de denkspelletjes, of jigsaw-puzzeltjes, die ik dan ook speel, maar de nieuwste MySims had zo’n uitdagende naam, dat ik deze erbij nam.
In ieder geval, de review van MySims Agents (Engels en Nederlands) staat online, maar de volgende klus ligt al voor me. Ook voor Spore Helden Arena heb ik een DS-review beloofd, dus ook dat gaat hopelijk deze week gebeuren. Eén ding scheelt, deze kan ik meteen online op Sporenetwork verwerken, natuurlijk in twee talen…
Verder bijna de hele dag online geweest, voornamelijk op de laptop. Die begint steeds meer te lijken op een soort communicatiecentrum. Voor Twitter en Facebook heb ik Tweetdeck erop gezet. Voordeel is natuurlijk, vergeleken met web-based werken, dat alle meldingen netjes in het beeld komen, terwijl je aan het werk bent. En … het reageren gaat dus wat sneller. Alhoewel, dat moet je niet te hard zeggen, want als ik midden in een tekst zit, ben ik nu niet zo snel met reageren.
Daarnaast staat ook MSN en Yahoo in actie, hoewel ik hier meestal offline geregistreerd sta. Staat één van de twee op “Busy” of “Zo terug”, dan ben ik echt wel, en wie dit weet, kan gewoon even aankloppen… of ik de deur open doe is natuurlijk nog een gok, maar kloppen mag!
Ondertussen loopt de dag weer ten einde. Het lijkt erop, alsof ik de hele dag uit mijn neus heb zitten eten. Maar soms is zo’n dagje online heel leerzaam…
Naast dat alle posts in deze weblog ook gepubliceerd worden op Hyves en Facebook, probeer ik zo veel mogelijk “extraatjes” in mijn SNWeblog kwijt te raken. Zo zijn er niet alleen de posts, waar ik hard aan werk, maar publiceer ik ook aparte pagina’s op de weblog.
Wie vanaf Hyves of Facebook een keer rechtstreeks wil kijken, moet hier gewoon even klikken.
Want het is gewoon de truc om zoveel mogelijk te doen met de Plug-ins die erin gezet kunnen worden. Sommige zijn ook gekoppeld op Hyves of Facebook, maar de eigenlijke roots liggen op deze weblog.
De posts op SNWeblog zijn vaak verschillend, sommige zijn wat persoonlijker, andere zijn gericht op de spellen Sims 2 en Spore. En natuurlijk de SNWforums niet te vergeten…
Op het weblog zelf kun je namelijk extra pagina’s maken, voor mij zijn die gerelateerd aan Sims- of Sporenetwork. Voor Sims is er een pagina met info over de uploads van “downloadable stuff” voor De Sims 2, voor Spore (en eigenlijk voor Sporenetwork) twee pagina’s met forumsignatures en avatars. Momenteel loop ik nog te denken aan een pagina met Sims 2 (of 3) avatars, maar dat is even latere zorg.
Mocht je dus dit lezen op Hyves of Facebook, kom gewoon eens kijken op het “origineel”. Het ontwerp ervan is trouwens een kunstwerkje van Rosana, webmiss en oprichtster van SNW, die in het dagelijkse leven al heel wat websites en weblogs vorm gegeven heeft.
Helaas, ben al weer een goede week aan het werk. Vakantie is weer over.
Maar in de laatste week van de vakantie gebeurde er veel. Zo was er de preview van het nieuwe Simsnetwerk voor de teamleden. Geloof dat Rosana en Cheetah bijna een week bezig zijn geweest om iedereen met uitleg en beeld zich ervan te overtuigen, dat de nieuwe SNW toch echt onderweg was.
En hoewel ik al wat sneak-preview had gehad, Rosana heeft zichzelf echt overtroffen. Cheetah ook trouwens…..
Dus als je inlogt op je vertrouwde SNW (over een paar weken of zo), wees dan niet verrast als er ineens iets heel anders verschijnt dat het vetrouwde rood/bruine…. Dan zit je op de nieuwe site/forum van Simsnetwerk/work.
Heftiger, zeker voor mij als forum admin op Sporenetwerk, was de lancering van het site-gedeelte van SporeNW. Met een simpele 1, 2, 3 … werd deze een week geleden online gezet. En, voor de Spore fans onder jullie, zeker de moeite waard om even langs te gaan of je zelf te registreren. Dus zeg ik …. DOEN!
Although Simsnetwork and Sporenetwork are our English Forums and English for me a second language is, this SNWeblog is transforming to Dutch. The language isn’t the problem, but most of the readers are, I’m sorry guys, Dutch. And besides that, on the forums I work bi-lingual and I like to blog in my own language more.
So, from the next line … I’m back into Dutch …
Vanaf deze regel is een nieuwe start gemaakt. Mijn SNWeblog is vanaf nu in het Nederlands te lezen. En wordt wat breder … SNW staat voor meerdere dingen, die ik graag bij houd op dit weblog. Op deze nieuwe weblog vindt je dus eigenlijk van alles. Spore, Sims, eigen artikelen, verhaaltjes, foto’s, persoonlijke nootjes …. gewoon, dat wat in mij opkomt.
Some months ago I decided to empty my Dutch weblog River’s Hill. Even wanted to delete it, but thanks to the legacies on SNW River’s Hill stayed alive.
A new idea sprouted on my mind, I have to renew River’s Hill.
No longer a newspaper image, no … River’s Hill is about the people living in this neighbourhood, in all the subs and telling you about their life. However … in Dutch.
Soon to be launched …. River’s Hill, een Simsstad.
Shame, shame, shame on me … the last post was on septembre 30th … shame.
Normally I try to write some posts on different blogs, but work and family took some extra time the last months. And, biggest problem of all, when I tried to get in … my password was incorrect.
This morning I was twittering and clicked on my SNWeblog. Just for fun I opened the Dashboard and … BANG, back again!
The last months were hectic. Big announcements from EA, The Sims 3 is due some days from now. I follow the news, the articles, the critics and still I am not in a Sims 3 mood. I am a Sims-fanatic since the first Sims ever made, but withThe Sims 3 my heart doesn’t tremble.
Deep in my heart I am content with The Sims 2 and all the expancions/accessories I bought the last years. And when everybody is exploring the new Sims, and the critics are getting better, maybe ….
In the meanwhile Spore became second on my gamelist, just behind my number one The Sims 2.
So nowadays I sit behind my desktop with a coin. And when it hits Head, I play the Sims that day.
No, I’m kidding, it’s just like moods. Somedays I like to play The Sims, work on my Hippie Legacy or just run through my main-neighbourhood River’s Hill. On the other days, I explore the galactic Spore-space….
SNW is going to change. Big plans, new look, new forum. I saw some previews and I’m excited. Still working on new legacies or translations of excisting Dutch legacies.
Ah … doesn’t matter, the main thing is … I’m back …
Translating some legacies which are published on the Dutch SNW, exploring Spore, starting with The Sims 2 Apartment Life and nightshift at my work… it’s a very busy schedule.
But I have to update you all. At this moment the Hippie Legacy is translated for almost 80%. There are some parts of the original text, that require some knowledge of the game play in English. I normally play it in Dutch, like most of the Dutch Sims 2 gamers.
I already examined some of the other legacies to translate them very soon.
Spore … I am addicted already. My eldest son and I play it on one account, so in no-time we created all kinds of strange-looking carnivores, omnivores or herbivores.
When I first heard about Spore, I reacted a little timid. I wasn’t ready for an another Wright invention. I hardly could manage to play Simscity or The Sims, my favourite genre (Fantasy Role Playing Games) was put in a very far away corner. But … after the first pictures and the Demo Creature Creator, I fell in love with this new Maxis/EA product.
Apartment Life … Yes, I bought this one too. I finally had the time to install it, and some days ago I build my first apartments. It’s certainly an improvement, but my town River’s Hill is getting to small for my little Sims. So, last week the mayor of my Sims City decided that it was allowed to build in the new Sunny Valley. 
Finally, work. One of my co-workers had to go to the hospital, so we had to rearrange the rosters. So now I’m in my second row of nightshifts. For me it’s not a problem, but considering all the things I wanted to do this month, it’s a busy time …. But, no sweat, tomorrow starts October ….. a new month, why complaining …. 
Some days ago, after reading Rosana’s preview, I decided to buy the latest expansion, Apartment Life. Shame on me, I still haven’t got the time to install it. But, with six days off, I think I can manage to do this very soon.
The nicest thing I read, was the returning of magic in my Sims neighborhoods. Years ago, with The Sims, I created witches and magicians with Abracadabra. So now …. OMG … they are back!!!!
Not even played the new expansion, but my mind is going crazy. This will be just a perfect start for a new Legacy on SNW Int (and on the Dutch SNW too).
At this moment I am translating the Hippie Legacy, which is a hit on the Dutch SNW. During the pauses in translating, I am thinking about a new Legacy, called Bewitched.
The last one is about the new magical part of The Sims 2. And, it will be available on both forums. That means I am thinking and creating this legacy in my mother-language Dutch, as in English as well.
The main part is almost ready, but I have to install Apartment Life first to get the specifics. And there are more legacies on the Dutch SNW I would like to translate or publish on the International SNW. So be patient, they are coming…

On the Dutch SNW legacies are a new, fast growing item. Some days ago I opened a forum on SNW International for those who like to join these story-contests. The first legacy is already published, not all the rules are made, but there is a start.
And Mogway, one of the SNW mods already published the first part of a thrilling story.
On the Dutch SNW I joined the Hippie Legacy. I never expected, that I would like to make a photo story, and play it by the rules. Most of the time, when I want something to happen quickly with my Sims, I cheat. Why … well they make cheats to make it easy, don’t they???
But now. with my special hippie Sim Walker Oostveen, I do not press CTRL-SHIFT C. And merely, it’s fun too.
Soon I will translate (and maybe Rosana already has a translation) the Hippie Legacy to use it on SNW International. So people, visit our International site/forum and join our legacies.

Maybe you’ve noticed Sims 2008 in my personal blogroll. Sims 2008 is the follow-up to Sims2005NL, a site I own for many years.
But today this is altered, Sims2005NL and the download partner Sims2005DL are history. Today I uploaded the first pages (it’s still a TEST) of Sims 2008 to the new server.
At this moment still in Dutch, but I am considering to make the site bilingual, in Dutch and English.
Besides this I created a download policy. Most of the downloads are free, but there had to be a way to create exclusive downloads. And I found one and it’s called SNW.
All the exclusive downloads will be found on the Exchange of Simsnetwerk/Simsnetwork, so if someone like to have them, he/she have to become a member of my favourite sites. What a way to help another….
Like I said, we’re still in the testingstage, but Sims 2008 is a fact …
