Plannen lopen wel eens mis

Soms lijkt het of je nergens aan toe kunt komen. Allerlei plannen zitten in je hoofd, en toch komt er niets uit. Alles wat je wilt, wil maar niet komen.

In de afgelopen weken terug de installatie van Sims 2 afgemaakt. Alle uitbreidingen en accessoires (behalve Home & garden) staan er weer op. En meteen aan de slag gegaan met Bodyshop, ik heb nog een fansite lopen, die sinds vorig jaar niet meer geupdate is. Ok, er staan er weer een paar op Sims2008.nl, maar een echte explosie was het dus niet….

Privé gezien ging het even wat minder. Mijn vrouw moest acuut opgenomen worden, omdat haar nierstenen begonnen op te spelen. Ineens zit je dan in het ziekenhuis om te horen, dat ze moet blijven. En dat blijven was ineens anderhalve week … alle ritme is er gewoon uit.
OK, vanuit mijn werk alle medewerking, bleek recht te hebben op zorgverlof van zes diensten, dus die zijn er doorheen gejaagd. Gelukkig liep nijn rooster deze weken net een beetje gunstig.

Al die “vrije tijd” had ook zijn voordelen. Op Facebook heb ik een Fanpage voor Sims2008 gemaakt, en mijn Legacy Sim Roxy Dawn is tot leven gekomen. Ze heeft zelfs haar eigen Facebook pagina en meer vrienden dan ik ooit verwacht had. Moet trouwens nog updaten … later deze week maar. En de legacy moet nog op SNW gezet worden.
Een ander voodeel van onverwachte “vrije tijd” is dat je kunt relativeren, even stil staan bij alles wat er om je heen gebeurd, of gebeurd is. En kun je weer nieuwe plannen, conclusies maken. Zelfs oplossingen voor simpele dingen bedenken.

Hoewel het geen pretje was voor mijn vrouw, de vervelende stenen zijn afgelopen woensdag verwijderd, heb ik de afgelopen twee weken stil kunnen staan bij alles wat er gebeurd was. En is de accu weer opgeladen, privé en zakelijk…

Weer actiever

De laatste weken raakt alles een beetje in het slop. Met de start van een nieuwe site (LdH Haarlem voor Dutch Homeless), gesponsord vanuit mijn eigen domein, en de nodige perikelen op privé en werkgebied, is juist het leuke achterwege gebleven.
Gewoon even bloggen, even een spelletje. OK, wel actief op Facebook, maar daar blijft het dan bij. Enkele weken terug Sims 2 opnieuw geïnstalleerd, gisteren Bodyshop weer eens geopend. Goh, het is alweer een hele tijd geleden dat ik aan het recoloren ben geweest …. Moest zelfs even nadenken.

Nog steeds blijf ik een fervent aanhager van Paint.Net, maar de laatste creaties zijn bewerkt met Gimp. Het is wat uitgebreider dan Paint.Net, en dus werd het zelfs een puzzeltje bij de eerste recolor.
Maar goed, de eerste creatie zijn gemaakt en ben ik ondertussen begonnen aan de Sims2008 Summer Collection 2010. Ze komen zonder twijfel op Sims2008, en ik hoop dat SNW in de nieuwe versie natuurlijk ook uploads aanvaardt. Dat is echter voor latere zorg.

De eerste nieuwe creaties zijn klaar, dus hier een voorproefje…. (Ze zijn ook te vinden in mijn Facebook Fotoalbum)

Back again…

Shame, shame, shame on me … the last post was on septembre 30th … shame.

Normally I try to write some posts on different blogs, but work and family took some extra time the last months. And, biggest problem of all, when I tried to get in … my password was incorrect.
This morning I was twittering and clicked on my SNWeblog. Just for fun I opened the Dashboard and … BANG, back again!

The last months were hectic. Big announcements from EA, The Sims 3 is due some days from now. I follow the news, the articles, the critics and still I am not in a Sims 3 mood. I am a Sims-fanatic since the first Sims ever made, but withThe Sims 3 my heart doesn’t tremble.
Deep in my heart I am content with The Sims 2 and all the expancions/accessories I bought the last years. And when everybody is exploring the new Sims, and the critics are getting better, maybe ….

In the meanwhile Spore became second on my gamelist, just behind my number one The Sims 2.
So nowadays I sit behind my desktop with a coin. And when it hits Head, I play the Sims that day.
No, I’m kidding, it’s just like moods. Somedays I like to play The Sims, work on my Hippie Legacy or just run through my main-neighbourhood River’s Hill. On the other days, I explore the galactic Spore-space….

SNW is going to change. Big plans, new look, new forum. I saw some previews and I’m excited. Still working on new legacies or translations of excisting Dutch legacies.
Ah … doesn’t matter, the main thing is … I’m back …

Busy schedule

Translating some legacies which are published on the Dutch SNW, exploring Spore, starting with The Sims 2 Apartment Life and nightshift at my work… it’s a very busy schedule.

But I have to update you all. At this moment the Hippie Legacy is translated for almost 80%. There are some parts of the original text, that require some knowledge of the game play in English. I normally play it in Dutch, like most of the Dutch Sims 2 gamers.
I already examined some of the other legacies to translate them very soon.

Spore … I am addicted already. My eldest son and I play it on one account, so in no-time we created all kinds of strange-looking carnivores, omnivores or herbivores.
When I first heard about Spore, I reacted a little timid. I wasn’t ready for an another Wright invention. I hardly could manage to play Simscity or The Sims, my favourite genre (Fantasy Role Playing Games) was put in a very far away corner. But … after the first pictures and the Demo Creature Creator, I fell in love with this new Maxis/EA product.

Apartment Life … Yes, I bought this one too. I finally had the time to install it, and some days ago I build my first apartments. It’s certainly an improvement, but my town River’s Hill is getting to small for my little Sims. So, last week the mayor of my Sims City decided that it was allowed to build in the new Sunny Valley.

Finally, work. One of my co-workers had to go to the hospital, so we had to rearrange the rosters. So now I’m in my second row of nightshifts. For me it’s not a problem, but considering all the things I wanted to do this month, it’s a busy time …. But, no sweat, tomorrow starts October ….. a new month, why complaining ….

Legacies to come on SNW

Some days ago, after reading Rosana’s preview, I decided to buy the latest expansion, Apartment Life. Shame on me, I still haven’t got the time to install it. But, with six days off, I think I can manage to do this very soon.

The nicest thing I read, was the returning of magic in my Sims neighborhoods. Years ago, with The Sims, I created witches and magicians with Abracadabra. So now …. OMG … they are back!!!!
Not even played the new expansion, but my mind is going crazy. This will be just a perfect start for a new Legacy on SNW Int (and on the Dutch SNW too).
At this moment I am translating the Hippie Legacy, which is a hit on the Dutch SNW. During the pauses in translating, I am thinking about a new Legacy, called Bewitched.
The last one is about the new magical part of The Sims 2. And, it will be available on both forums. That means I am thinking and creating this legacy in my mother-language Dutch, as in English as well.

The main part is almost ready, but I have to install Apartment Life first to get the specifics. And there are more legacies on the Dutch SNW I would like to translate or publish on the International SNW. So be patient, they are coming…
